Hi! My name is Chloe, and I am a first-year PhD student in the Hamdoun lab. I am interested in research questions that span environmental toxicology, molecular biology, and marine biology. My overall aim is to better understand the impacts of xenobiotics on humans and marine life. I am currently working to use Lytechinus pictus as a model to study neurotoxicology. My current projects include mechanisms of neural defense from xenobiotics, characterizing neurotoxicity in larval and adult nervous systems, and using split florescent protein technology to make transgenic lines in urchins to study the nervous system.
In my free time, I like to read, crochet, bake, and explore San Diego’s food and outdoor activities.
